SATS Success
Our Year 6 SATs results for 2009 were the best in Hackney! Congratulations to all of our staff, parents and pupils, for their hard work in achieving this fantastic result.
Football Stars
St John of Jerusalem is also top of the league for football! Well done to everyone who played so brilliantly against the other Hackney schools.
Work Week
Once again, work week was a great success, and we learned lots of interesting things about the world of work. Year 3 enjoyed visiting the Bank of England, and Year 4 went to work in a restaurant, where they used maths skills to serve behind the bar, set tables, and also do some cooking.
The Big Stink
In November, 14 tonnes of compost arrived in Primrose Square, outside the school gates! Thanks to all of the parents, children and staff who got stuck in and helped move it, in spite of the smell. We have built some new beds where the children can grow their own vegetables, and we’re hoping for a bumper crop next year.
Panto
We really enjoyed our visit to Aladdin at the Hackney Empire. There were flying genies, singing camels, tap-dancing pandas, and lots of big smiles!
