Admissions Policy

St John of Jerusalem is a school that welcomes applications from families from every culture, faith (or none) and background.  We would welcome you to visit our school to get a real feel for our school environment.   School tours are conducted on an appointment basis. Please contact the school office to arrange your visit so we know to expect you!
Applications to Nursery

If your child has a birthday between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013, you may apply to join our Nursery in September 2015.  If your child turns 3 between 1st September 2016 and 31st December 2016, there may be a small number of places available from Spring Term 2017 - please enquire at the School Office. 

Applications to our Nursery are made directly to the school, and there are a number of full time and part time places available.  Our Admissions policy applies to Nursery places, and it should be noted that children who have attended our Nursery have first preference in the Reception applications process. To apply, you will need to fill out a school application form and a religious observance form if applicable, and return them to the school office, or via email to
Both ther equired forms are available at the bottom of the page.  You will also be asked to provide your child's birth certificate and a recent proof of address.
Admissions to Reception
All children whose birthday falls between 1st Sept 2011 and 31st August 2012 will start primary school reception class in September 2016.
You may apply for a place in our Reception Class for the school year 2016/17.  You must apply even if your child is already attending our Nursery class.  
Apply Online
From the 1st September 2014, the online system is availble 24 hours 7 days a week up to the closing date.
You can login and change your preference at anytime until midnight of the closing date, listing any six primary schools in London. You will get the result of the your application by email, before the letter arrives in the post.
Before you start
Please read the Hackney's Primary School 2015 Admission Guide for Parents. Please see Hackney Primary Guide 2015 or get a copy from your local children's centre, primary school or the Hackney Learning Trust reception office.
You will need to register your details and provde an email address. If you have no email address, you can get a free email account with provider Google (Gmail). Once registered, you will then be sent an email with details on how start your application.
Accessing the online application
The Reception applications procedure is managed via Hackney Learning Trust.  You will need to complete the online application process here: Hackney Learning Trust ; in addition to the online application process, you will be required to complete and return our religious observance form, (if applicable), which can be found in the above section. You will need to return this to the school office.
Deadline date for Reception online applications is Thursday 15th January 2016. notification date of outcome is 16 April 2016.
What happens after my online application?
Once youv'e completed your online application, you'll receive an email telling you your 16 digit reference number and preferences expressed. Please make and keep a note of this number with your username and password and check that all details are correct.
Please note that if you have twins or triplets, you will need to complete a seperate application for each child.
