PTFA

ABOUT US... The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association is open to anyone who is a Parent, Grandparent, Carer or Teacher who would like to contribute to the wider life of the school. We provide volunteers and resources to school events like the Christmas and Summer Fairs, International Day, and Summer Fun Day. Our after school picnics and family film nights have been a great success and enjoyed by all who attended, as were our annual Christmas and Summer Fairs. These events are great fun, with everyone pitching in to help, and they strengthen our school community as well as getting a lot done and raising money for the school in the process. Why not come along to the PTFA meeting to share ideas and find out what you can do to help?

MEETINGS...

Our next meeting date is still to be confirmed - watch this space! We'll also advertise it in the school newsletter and on the PTFA WhatsApp group.

Our last Parents, Teachers and Friends meeting was on Friday 7th June at 9am, when we planned for our school Summer Fair, which was held on Friday 12th July.

We met for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 26 March, when as well as talking over fundraising events and school news we elected our Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. These roles are currently held by Lisa-Raine, Claire and Estelle, but they are very keen to let others have a turn! - so do have a chat to one of them if you think you might be interested, and find out more. Our next Annual General Meeting is due in March 2020, but there are other meetings usually once or twice per term.

NEWS... We enjoyed a successful Film Night on Friday 22 March after school. Children in KS1 watched "Moana" and in KS2 "The Greatest Showman". A great time was had by all, and we raised over £100. Many thanks to all those who volunteered their time to sell tickets, make popcorn and help out on the night. We couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks to all those who came to our Summer Fair on Friday 12th July, especially those who contributed raffle prizes, things to sell and/or helped set up and run stalls. We managed to raise money to put towards the school summer Fun Day, so well done everyone!

Do sign up to our new Whats App group to keep you informed of future events (speak to the school office or Lisa-Raine, Claire or Estelle for more details).

EASYFUNDRAISING... Don't forget you can raise money for the school PTFA every time you shop online simply by signing up to easyfundraising.org.uk. Thousands of online shops will donate a commission to St John of Jerusalem PTFA when you shop with them, and it doesn't cost you a penny extra! Please sign up! The more people that do, the more we raise.

INFO... The PTFA's chair is Lisa-Raine Hunt, Claire Skrine is treasurer, and Estelle Wilson secretary.
