Enrichment
At the centre of our school is our rich, broad and stimulating curriculum. But we offer so much more on top of this to enrich our children's learning and development.
"Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions."
Forest School
The unstructured environment encourages curiosity and imagination, allowing children to learn at their own pace. Additionally, Forest School helps develop social skills as children collaborate, negotiate, and communicate. It nurtures a deep respect for the environment and promotes sustainability, providing a holistic education that goes beyond traditional classroom settings.
Our Forest School is in a dedicated area of our playground, and all of our children have weekly sessions with outside professionals from The Garden Classroom who specialise in Forest School provision.
You can find out more about the Forest School Initiative here, and The Garden Classroom here.
"Pupils like the wide range of experiences that they have, for example learning to play the steel pans." Ofsted.
Music
We offer our children a rich and varied range of music provision. Our children love learning to play the steel pans and other instruments including guitar. Individual instrument tuition is also available, and we also have after-school music clubs. Children regularly showcase their talents in music assemblies to which parents are invited. We also take part in the annual Hackney Music Festival. Singing assemblies, lead by music specialists from Hackney Music, are a much loved part of the school week.
After-School Clubs
We off a variety of clubs for children to participate in both during and after school. These include Football, Multisport, Basket Ball, infants PE, Netballs, Cricket, Drama, Grammar, Poetry and Art Clubs. You can find out more about our clubs and which days they take place here.
