Governors

The task of the Governing Body of St John of Jerusalem Church of England Primary School is to ensure that every child in the school gets the best possible education.

We do this by concentrating on three core functions:

1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.

2. Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.

3. Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

Our school is a 'Voluntary Aided' school which means that the Governing Body also acts as the employer of the staff and is responsible for school admissions.

The Foundation Governors of the school have a specific role in preserving and developing the Christian ethos of the school.

The maximum number of governors on the Governing Body has been set at twelve:

Two Parent Governors Patrice Browne and Nadiya Laamim
One Executive Headteacher  Elizabeth Figueiredo
One Headteacher  René Africa (Head of School)
One Staff Governor Lakia Ryner
Foundation Parochial Church Council Appointed:
Alister Bould (Chair), Alison Hill
Foundation Deanery Synod Appointed: Nana Akindele,  Jenielle Ligami
Ex- Officio:
Revd Andrew Wilson
