In order to minimise cross-contamination from Covid19, we have decided that home reading will take place online only. Please click on the link below to create a log in for your child on 'Reading Planet Online'. Once you have done this we will be able to allocate books for home reading that are suitable for your child's age and ability. Thanks.
The children have daily Phonics, Maths Mastery and Supported Reading sessions where they have the chance to take part in new learning and to practise their skills.
They also learn through specific teacher led activities as well as through free choice activities.
Role play opportunities are available in a variety of forms to encourage children to use their social and language skills.
Building up of gross motor skills is encouraged by providing the children with lots of opportunities to practise and hone these.
Fine motor skills are also practiced in a variety of ways, for example through cutting and sticking activities.
We have daily phonics carpet sessions with follow up activities for individual children.
Opportunities for mark-making are varied and plentiful in Reception and are done in both free and more structured ways.
We have lots of opportunities to do Maths using our knowledge of number, shape and pattern.
Construction toys offer opportunities for open-ended play to help children build their confidence, learn independently and work co-operatively.
Children have opportunities to play creatively and use resources independently.
Messy play provides the children with tactile and sensory experiences to inspire curiosity and creativity.
